Welcome to the Dobell Drawing School blog!

It has been my pleasure to work as the coordinator of the Dobell Drawing School at the National Art School. Now in its tenth year, The Dobell Drawing School celebrates a fruitful collaboration between the National Art School, the Department of Education and Training and the Sir William Dobell Foundation; but the true winners are the students who participate in the program every year. These Year 11 students are given an opportunity to engage in an intensive drawing experience that they would not normally get in a secondary school environment.

The learning curve the students are on whilst here is dynamic: to watch them develop their skills over the duration of the program is incredibly rewarding in itself. They leave the National Art School armed with knowledge and experience that is invaluable to the work that they will be undertaking in their school context during their senior studies. Thank you once again to the Sir William Dobell Foundation for making it all possible!
